Dr. Tural FATULLAYEV has focused his professional work on aesthetic, functional and reconstructive nasal surgery. He sees patients at his clinic in Ankara and takes part as a speaker and trainer in national and international scientific meetings.
Education and expertise
He was born in 1986 in Azerbaijan. He began medical school in 2003 and graduated with honours in 2009. In 2010 he ranked first among all candidates in the diploma equivalency examination held in Türkiye. In 2013, with his result in the Medical Specialty Examination, he began his specialty training in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
While gaining experience in different surgical fields during his specialty training, he turned in particular to rhinoplasty and nasal airway surgery. His thesis on endoscopic sinus surgery deepened his knowledge of intranasal anatomy and, in later years, laid the foundation for the intranasal flap techniques he uses in tissue repair. He developed his expertise in this area through advanced training and cadaver dissection work.
Clinical focus
In his clinical practice, alongside primary rhinoplasty, he has focused on revision rhinoplasty, which requires the restructuring of noses that have been operated on before, on septal perforation repair, and on reconstructive nasal surgery to correct tissue loss.
Surgical education and presentations
Combining his professional experience with surgical education, he has repeatedly performed live primary and revision rhinoplasty operations as a trainer at various meetings. In cadaver dissection courses that have reached hundreds of participants in total, he has given hands-on training on nasal anatomy, surgical techniques and reconstruction methods. With dissection videos he prepared himself, he conveyed in detail the relationship between anatomical structures and surgical practice.
He has given masterclass training in different countries and has taken part as an invited speaker at international congresses on advanced topics in primary and revision rhinoplasty and on reconstructive nasal surgery. At these meetings he shared with colleagues his experience of surgical planning, surgical techniques and decision-making in difficult cases.
Publications
He has written book chapters on various topics in nasal surgery and on revision rhinoplasty. In these works he has brought his clinical experience and surgical approaches into the scientific literature and contributed to professional education.
Memberships
He is a member of the European Rhinoplasty Society, the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, the European Rhinologic Society, the Facial Plastic Surgery Society and the Azerbaijan Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons (ASRS).
While working only in nasal surgery at his clinic in Ankara, he continues to contribute to scientific publications and surgical education programmes.
